Putting association fees to work....

The main purpose of the Orthogonal Bookstore is to highlight books that I find useful. It is meant to be a service to you, in case you haven’t seen some of these titles before. Perhaps you and I will have similar tastes, and I can provide good recommendations for you.

Along the way, I suppose I could profit from this. However, I’d rather do something more useful with the 5% Amazon pays me if you buy a book through this site.

Thus, I have decided to match the association fees I earn from this bookstore and donate it all to charity.

I haven’t yet decided the allotments and which charities will benefit. One of my favorites is Big Brothers Big Sisters, so that is probably where at least part of it will go. It may be moot to try to split the donation among more than one charity. After all, these sorts of sites don’t generate that much revenue ($25-100/year).

Then again, you could prove me wrong.

If you are going to buy a book from Amazon anyway, please buy it through this site... and do something useful with that buck or two.

Thanks in advance,
Scot.
